Campaigns
We aim to ensure that our ‘campaigning’ is ethical; empowers those suffering disadvantage; stimulates debate, research and peaceful action; challenges and helps change assumptions and attitudes; and, of course, contributes to the achievement of our legislative and other objectives. Our forthcoming principal campaign will be the ‘Campaign for One Genuine Act’.
CAMPAIGN FOR
ONE GENUINE ACT
There is now an excellent opportunity - with ongoing UK Government reviews (designed to feed into a Single Equality Bill) - to ensure that the next generation of ‘disability’ discrimination legislation is fairer and more effective.
The aim of the ‘Campaign for ONE GENUINE ACT‘ is to help make the most of this opportunity. In particular, it will assist individual and group campaigns; and, when appropriate and requested, bring them together for more concerted action (such as joint lobbies, events and statements).
We will also be addressing other forms of discrimination, including multiple-discrimination, such as, for example, someone suffering discrimination on grounds of both gender and ethnicity.
A PDF of the campaign guide is available.
